So it's December. Unlike, it seems, most of the world, I do not spend my life pining for snow and reindeers. Right now I'm suffering from a severe lack of sun and the days where you could go out in shorts and a vest (even in the summer these are rare in England) seem like they belong in someone else's life.
I mean on the one hand, there is snow. Sometimes. But sometimes there's just mush. And sometimes it's just very dry and nail-crackingly skin-blisteringly cold.
And I'm just not getting into the festive cheer so much this year. My school does do some very Christmassy things around this time - but it also does mock exams. Now as I'm a big girl in the sixth form I have my mocks in February now. But that doesn't stop me from being extremely disturbed by the piles of fifteen years olds lying everywhere, buzzed up on caffeine and frantically muttering dates to themselves they crammed in their reeling brains at two last night. It gives me flashbacks to my Mocks, which were hideous and I'm pretty sure I have post traumatic stress disorder over.
Last year me and my friend made a list of Christmassy things to do, like go sledging and pee in the snow. However this year it seems all my friends are deserting me to go to hot beachy places for Christmas. Is it just me or does that just seem like cheating to anyone else? You get the presents and turkey! You should get the slushiness and wetness too!
But there are satsumas. And I can eat a looooot of satsumas.....
